our morning...

Charlie loves to water the few plants we have in our not so nice garden, Im determined to grow something though even though the soil is very soggy constantly!

A lovely cup of my favourite tea, rose, chamomile and lavender :)
This morning we were up at very early oclock for some strange reason. I was suprised as charlie had been up most of the night coughing and barking with a bout of croup, we spent some of the night in a very steamy bathroom wich does ease his horrible barking but mainly the only thing that soothes his throat is to nurse. So Im feeling a little sore and jaded today, but my boy is as bright as a button this morning even if he is still coughing. Think Il cheer us up and pop to the garden centre later and get a couple of plants to try and brighten up our rather forlorn garden.

Book Share Monday.

Lost and Found by Oliver Jeffers.
Once there was a boy and one day he found a penguin at his door, he didnt know where it came from or who it belonged to. The penguin looked sad and the boy thought it must be lost. So he decided to help it find its way home, even if that meant rowing all the way to the South Pole.....

..the more he thought..the more he realised he was making a big mistake. The penguin wasnt lost. He was just lonely.

They rowed south for many days and nights with the boy telling stories all the way. The penguin listened to everything that the boy said.

This beautiful book is another one of our much loved bedtime stories.

Book Share Monday.

Charlie absolutely loves this book and we read it every night at bedtime, he knows the story by heart and it never fails to have him giggling and smiling at the funny and brilliant text......

Duck in the Truck, by Jez Alborough.

''This is a tale of a duck in a truck, a truck that was stuck in some yucky brown muck.

A sheep in a jeep and a frog in a bush saw the truck stuck and gave it a push. But the truck stayed stuck!

A very funny, lovely and brilliantly illustrated book.

Little Kitten

Charlie has started to play with a cuddly little cat that daddy brought back from a working trip to Germany, he calls it 'kitten' and it has to have cat food every day followed by lots of cuddles.

Book share Monday......a little late

Well as the title suggests I'm sharing our favorite book at the moment, even if its a day late, that's mainly because as you can probably tell I've been spending a little time ''customizing'' my blog. I've been fiddling around with it for ages but was getting nowhere very fast so with the much needed help from my very clever and extremely patient fiance Warren, I have changed a few bits. I'm not sure if the background is a bit much, any thoughts welcome!

Our book is...My Hippie Grandmother by reeve Lindbergh, illustrated by Abby Carter.

This book is just simply gorgeous!

easter crafts

Yesterday we decided to make some easter cards, charlie took this very seriously and seemed to go into a little world of his own, he thought for a while what he wanted to do and with only a little help now and then he made these beautiful cards. Sometimes he can take me by suprise and sit and be calm and peaceful, enjoying a quiet crafty moment (wich is a bit rare in our house these days lol) but most days he's far to busy, being the energetic soul we love so much.

Tuesday 7 April 2009

Today we went to a nearby park, we just walked, charlie rode his bike for hours and hours, we had lunch at a lovely cafe with a huge box full of toys and books. I went with my sister and we realised that it was the first time we'd been out to the park since her little one was born 8 months ago, to be honest we have a funny kind of relationship and we struggle at times even though we've been so much together in the past. Theres always been this funny kind of competitive thing with nikki and I just wish we could enjoy each other for who we are. I wont waffle on as its a very long and sometimes sad story, but anyway we had a really nice day

playing.
