Today we rescued a baby bird.

Unfortunately one of the horrible drawbacks of having 2 lovely cats is the little presents they feel obliged to bring home as some kind of offering. Woody our ginger tom was 'playing' with this little bird in the garden earlier today, the poor little mite was petrified, it was slightly bedraggled and had a few feathers missing but luckily I spotted him in time and brought him in the house away from the dreaded moggy. Charlie and I made a little nest for him to rest and recover in and left him to recuperate in peace, within a couple of hours he was flapping about and was ready for life in the wild again. We put him under a bush in a nice quiet spot and he seemed happy to venture off.
I do love our cats but I do struggle to deal with their unnecessary hunting at times.

Poor wee thing - cats and hawks round here, but i think our blackbird family made it - hoping the bluetits will too. I loved the green man, but he was a bit scary ! xxx
