We've been spending as much time as possible outdoors in the gorgeous sunshine and what a beautiful place to spend an hour or two skimming stones than here at the River Ribble just 20 miles away. Apparently it was here in this very area that Tolkien had his inspiration for 'The Shire' in the Lord of The Rings books. I think I've found a new favourite place to be.

Hi,
How interesting that Tolkien was apparently inspired by the river! It looks like a beautiful favourite place! Such happy pictures.
Best wishes
Kelly
Hi kelly, I think it was the whole area and the valley the river runs through around Clitheroe, Lancashire. X
